THE THAMES BOAT

The live project collaborates with the artist, Ben Judd. The brief was to provide a dramatic and transformative space within the confines of a boat, which becomes a venue that holds varied activities. The design has got a high potential for functionality and flexibility.
The main concept of the design plays around with visual through different materials and shape. For the exterior design at the roof deck, we have used a lot of panels to form the various sizes of pentagon structure. Through these structures, it has beautifully created a streamline with gradient sizes of the shape.
For the interior, it has inspired the idea from the exterior, which to create a sense of coherence and unify between outside and inside, which combining the idea of the panel and table into one element due to the interior of the boat is narrow. It reduces the use of space in the interior and increases the flexibility of it.
